The Iraqi oil ministry signs a contract to rehabilitate alkayara & najma in its final form.

 

     The Iraqi oil ministry signed a contract to rehabilitate Alkayara & Najma Oil fields which was awarded to Sonangol Angolan Oil Company according to the second licensing round and certified it by the council of ministers.

 

      Alkayara field is expected to reach maximally 120 thousand barrel/ day and a cost of (5) dollars per barrel. And Najma field is expected to reach maximally 110 thousand barrel/day and a cost of (6) dollars per barrel.

 

    Mr. Abdul Kareem Luaibi the deputy minister for up streaming said that the contract of Alkayara & Najma will be reflected positively   in the increase of oil product imports as well as achieving the fact of the work opportunities for young unemployed people to work with the development of the investment sector and in parallel in all provinces that are arranged according to the oil fields, according to the geographical distribution of those fields. And the spokesman of the oil ministry Mr. Assem Jihad said that, the signing and development of (Alkayara & Najma) oil fields is a beginning to develop the oil industry in the province and the best investment for these fields makes it one of the oil provinces, note that the ministry had recently formed a committee of Ninawa oil as a step to establish the Ninawa Oil Company to oversee and manage oil fields in the province, as in Maysan Oil Company and the South and the North companies and other companies that will be developed after the oil contracts concluded by the Oil Ministry recently. From his side Mr. Martin Kasper, president of the Sonangol Company was pleased to sign contracts for the rehabilitation and development of these fields.

 

    It is noteworthy that The Oil Ministry continues to sign contracts for the first and second licensing rounds with the companies that won licenses in the draw for rounds according to regulations established by the ministry.
