Shahristani "Egyptian companies will have a role in the oil industry"

     Dr.Hussain Al-Shahristani the oil minister met with his Egyptian counterpart, Mr. Sameh Fahmi, whom presided over the large Egyptian oil delegation included more than 25 officials at the oil companies of the Ministry of Petroleum in Egypt.

     Dr. Shahristani said that the Egyptian companies will have a large and active role in oil projects and will participate in the implementation of various projects in Iraq's oil industry which will bring significant benefits to both countries and strengthen relations, and declared that some of the Egyptian companies are participating now in applying projects in Basra governorate. And Dr. Shahristani said also "We seek to achieve a genuine partnership with the brothers in Egypt through the activation of oil cooperation" and added "Iraq seeks to deal with some of the companies that won contracts of rehabilitation and development of oil and gas fields that were put in the first, second and third rounds of competition" he also said " "We expect to see the next phase of the heavy presence of these companies in various locations of Iraq's oil"

    The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, Mr. Sameh Fahmi, shown his country's support for Iraq in all the fields and interest in the process of construction and reconstruction, and said: "We came today to Iraq in response to the invitation made to us by Prime Minister Noori Al-Maliki during his recent visit to Cairo, and here I am commissioned by the President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak and Mr. Prime Minister, and our visit is in a joint program with Iraq to activate cooperation and support in the field of oil" .as well as he said that the Egyptian government gives favorable consideration to the genuine efforts of the brothers in Iraq in order to develop and support construction, and investment in the country and added "the Egyptian companies will have a role in the reconstruction of Iraq".
