Iraq discusses with Kuwait the issue of the Border oil fields.

     Mr. Abdul Kareem Bahid Liaibi the deputy of the Iraqi oil ministry for the up streaming met with the Kuwaiti ambassador in Iraq Mr. Ali Al-Moumen, and during the meeting they discussed about strengthening the relationships between the two neighbor countries in different aspects such as oil. And Mr. Abdul Kareem Welcomed the desire of the Kuwaiti side to participate in developing the oil sector, pointing out that Iraq welcomes all Arab and international companies specialized in the oil industry to take advantage of their expertise in the development of the Iraqi oil industry. At the same time the Kuwaiti Ambassador stressed on the consolidation of fraternal bonds of the relationship between the two countries and peoples of Iraq and Kuwait. And shown the readiness of the Kuwaiti company to work in the oil sector and contribute to the development of Iraq's infrastructure and reconstruction.

      Mr. Abdul Kareem reviewed the oil industry in Iraq particularly in the development of oil fields in the first and second rounds of licensing to increase production and consistent with the location of Iraq for countries producing and exporting oil.

   Iraq and Kuwait had agreed earlier to hold the fifth meeting between the Iraqi-Kuwaiti Joint Committee in Kuwait on the 24th of November to discuss the joint border oil fields, also agreed to a third party technical accurate assessment for these fields and then submitted to the Committee to take the appropriate decision.
