The ministry of oil of Iraq
(north Oil Company) signs a contract as the final to Develop (Al Ahdab)
oil field.
The
ministry of oil of Iraq (north Oil Company) held a big celebration
adopted by the Iraqi minister of oil, his Excellency Dr. Hussein
Al.shahristani with the presence of a high level Chinese delegation
joined ministers and managers of Chinese companies in addition to the
presence of the governor of (Wasit) state and the inspector general of
the oil ministry and the general directors.
During the celebration the ministry of oil of Iraq (north Oil Company)
signed the final contract with the (Oasis) Chinese company CNPC to
develop the Ahdab oil field which his Excellency Dr. Hussein
Al.Shahristani said that it is one of the promising oil fields, with a
value of three billion dollars as a media source said.
During his speech Dr. Hussein Al.shahristani assured that the ministry
of oil of Iraq is determined to increase the production through
developing the oil fields and the contract with the Chinese company will
increase the quantity of crude oil which will contribute in increasing
the level of the products and the exports.
And
the contract with the Chinese company was to develop the Ahdab
oil field totally to supply the (Wasit) electric station with oil which
is about to be built in the same city and start producing the electric
power by its first unit after three years. And the oil minister
mentioned at the same time that the production capacity of the Ahdab oil
field is predicted with (125 thousand) barrels per day and its first
production capacity is about (25 thousand) barrels per day. At the same
time his Excellency said that Iraq and the Chinese company has signed
the contract in august/2008 as a primary contract and the Iraqi council
of ministers ratified on it in September/2008.
