The ministry
of oil declares for the 4th licensing round.
The Oil Ministry
announced for the fourth round of licenses to develop a
number of exploratory areas includes 12 sites over some provinces, And
The minister of oil Mr. Abdul Kareem Liaibi Bahidh shown that the round
contains exploratory locations and not oil & gas fields, and shown that
the declaration of the 4th licensing round came after the successful
achievement of the last three licensing rounds which affected positively
in raising the Iraqi reserves in addition to the increase of production.
The Minister of oil said
that the companies that will participate in the fourth round
of competition are international oil companies that was qualified in the
previous three licensing rounds, which signed contracts with the Oil
Ministry, as well as other international qualified companies that
participated in the previous licensing rounds and did not
sign contracts with the Ministry of Oil, whom will be re evaluated
legally and financially. As well as the international oil companies whom
will participate in, are the same that are qualified through the new
prequalification process which was announced in the middle of April.
And the schedule of the
fourth licensing round will be in the following coordination:
Rehabilitation of
companies in the month of June, as well as for the creation of
information packages in the same month. and the conference to promote
for the licensing round will be held in August, , and the bags of
information will be sold in August , while a workshop will be held to
discuss the contracts and technical information during the month of
November, of this year, and the contract standard will be issued as well
as the document of the final tender (FTP) through ,
December of 2011, and contracts will be transmitted during the month of
January, 2012.
The minister described
the announcement of this tour as an invitation to the international
companies whom wishes to participate in order to identify the
qualified of them to enter and submit their proposals for the
development of these sites, which represent exploratory areas. and
pointed out that the ministry will enter into service contracts with
companies that will win this round, just like the
three licensing rounds conducted by the ministry in earlier times.
And the exploratory
locations are the following:
- The first exploratory area is located in the province of
Nainawa and the area is estimated with 7300 km 2 with hydrocarbon
prospects (gas).
- The second exploratory area is located in the province of
Anbaar & Nainawa and the area is estimated with 8000 km 2 with
hydrocarbon prospects (gas).
- The third exploratory area is located in the province of
Anbaar and the area is estimated with 7000 km 2 with hydrocarbon
prospects (gas).
- The fourth exploratory area is located within the borders of Anbar province
and the area is estimated with 7000 km 2 with hydrocarbon prospects
(gas).
- The fifth exploratory area is located in the province of
Anbaar and the area is estimated with 8000 km 2 prospects with
hydrocarbon prospects (gas).
- The sixth exploratory area is located between the provinces
of Najaf & Anbaar and the area is estimated up to 9000 km 2 with
hydrocarbon prospects (gas).
- The seventh area is in the provinces of Qadisia, Babel, Najaf
and Muthanna and the area is estimated with 6000 km 2 with hydrocarbon
prospects (oil).
- The eighth exploratory area is located in the province of
Diala & Wasit and the area is estimated with 6000 km 2 with hydrocarbon
prospects (gas).
- The ninth exploratory area is located in the province of
Basra and the area is estimated with 900 km 2 with hydrocarbon prospects
(oil).
- The tenth exploratory area is located in the province of
Muthanna & Thiqar and the area is estimated with 5500 km 2 with
hydrocarbon prospects (oil).
- The eleventh exploratory area is located in the province of
Najaf & Muthanna the area is estimated up to 8000 km 2 with hydrocarbon
prospects (oil).
- The last exploratory area is located in the province of Najaf
& Muthanna the area is estimated up to 8000 km 2 with hydrocarbon
prospects (oil). |
